Cain sounds like a hooker on a street corner bitching about someone not offering the same amount available at the next corner.

Actually it sounds like a business man and a resident of Eaton Ohia who wanted to expand his business in his hometown, asked for help from Bob Stonecash and the city manager ,and members of council, and they basically told him to go go away that they were too busy to bother with him. So he is moving his business to Englewood. Perhaps he will move there compleatly. Removing all his money from the "big city's" tax base. As a very good friend of mine has been quoted as saying many times. There is more to the state of Ohio than Eaton Ohia..

Yeah, I'd say it was the shipping crates and sea containers at their busting at the seams location that got Cains the disrespect they didn't deserve. Wasn't landscaped etc...but ya gotta crawl before you can walk.
I heard currently, a local business person is trying to buy Eaton Compressors current facility for an adult entertainment nite club. Its industrial zoning makes it a great location.

Perhaps mayor Stonecash and the others are interested in developing a "destination shopping and adult entertainment center" much like Richmond Ind. was operating in their "massage parlors".

I have removed this original post in consideration of now having gotten the other side of the story.

This reply is for the "freak". What kind of name is this? What do you do?? :?: I want to know what your real name is. I look on this board and can't believe what I am reading from a resident of Preble County actually backing the things I hear in his posts. For starters, I don't live in Bostin, IN and the rotted house boat has NOTHING to do with me or Eaton Compressor. My business does over 6 million dollars/year in business and we started in a basement of our house. Comments like this are normally made by someone that knows Bob Stonecash (buddies), but the only problem is you are afraid to put your name out there of who you actually are because I will know who you are! When the truth is, you are jealous of how my company is doing and in real terms and facts you probably don't have a pot to pee pee in or a window to throw it out! I dare you to post your name...I really want to know who you are.

I have news for you Mr. Freak...my 70 jobs are going to another county and another business that has talked to Eaton officials is also moving to Englewood and is going to be my next door neighbor. I can't expose who it is until the deal is signed, but this company is going to employ 150 people and Eaton pretty much did not help them either. There is another company that is going to be my neighbor to the other side and he is also going to take jobs that would have come here from out of state and he is also going to move them to Englewood as well. If you can add, Mr. Freak, or if you can't I will give you some help...150+70+30 =250 jobs-smoke that one in your pipe. Keep thinking like you are thinking when you are in the unemployment line and how many more jobs have been turned away that could have been here as well. Remember, you are like many of the rest here on this board that are against me that are just a little jealous of how well we have actually done. The little business that you are talking about is now turning BIG TIME!!! I am going to supply a major parts supplier $20 million in compressors per year and I am VERY proud of that! Since you are such good buddies with Bob Stonecash, make sure you tell him that as running for commissioner, he better start keeping jobs here rather than throwing them out the window. If you are not scared, I would like to know your REAL name Mr. Freak.

I feel so good when many of the non-jealous citizens come up to me by the hundreds and have told me that they cannot believe what the city is doing in not keeping the jobs here. And just watch and see what Eaton Compressor ends up actually being - one of the name brands you buy every day.

I am glad I was able to go to the meetings and get my side of the story out to the citizens of Eaton. Ron McGuire who is running against Bob Stonecash was in my office talking about the jobs that are being lost in this community and if things work out, Eaton just lost hundreds of jobs with numerous companies moving to Englewood. This is something that the citizens do not know and I would not have known if I was not so involved with what happened in my dealings. Ron McGuire had expressed to me his frustration in seeing jobs go out of the county. We had talked and I expressed to him that he needs to DEBATE Bob Stonecash publically. This is something the citizens need to hear. When I made this comment to Ron he said he would do it and do it where hundreds of people could attend. You have been called out Bob Stonecash and the people should hear what you are actually going to do for Preble County and should hear what Ron McGuire is going to do for Preble County. I am a Republican and I would for the first time vote Democrate after hearing how Mr. McGuire would do differently than Mr. Stonecash would. Mr. McGuire said he would keep the jobs not run them out to another county and he wants to tell the people how he would do it. This debate is needed. Bob Stonecash could not answer my questions about losing our company in front of the citizens that came to the city counsil meeting. This is unacceptable and hundreds of people including teachers, attorneys, and business owners have expressed their frustrations to me as how questions could not be answered in front of people that is running our city. Now Mr. Stonecash is running for County Commissioner so instead of just Eaton being ran this way, now he is trying to run the WHOLE COUNTY this way.

The red carpet has been rolled out...let's see if Mr. Stonecash accepts the challenge of the debate.

I am not afraid of anything. I also have a bit of a pot to piss in myself. I am not a factory worker or in the manufacturing business. I started an internet development company in 1994 and sold it to a large publishing company in 1999. I grew up in Eaton, moved to Cincinnati for many years. Moved back to Eaton, grew tired of some of the same things, and moved away again this past January to Metamora, Indiana where I am debt free, own 167 acres, a new publishing company, sit on the board of an insurance company as a CIO, and spend my day job hours as a partner in a 30 year old software company. I am a software architect who commands $200-400 an hour for my efforts. I will hardly ever be on the unemployment line and work as much or as little as I choose. I am hardly jealous of you.

I am glad your business is growing. Be that as it may, you presented yourself very poorly in all of this matter. You're such a successful business guy, but you're crying over comments on an internet website. You've already made your decision to move, but you take out ads in the paper, challenge people to debates, and behave in a fashion where you generally demonstrate an inability to spend productive time on priorities.

The bottom line is that you came across like a doubletalker, where you supposedly want to stay in Eaton, but had already made the decision to move, refused to work with the city, and generally wanted everyone to march to the beat of your own drum. Fine... you made your decision to move your business, super! Stop crying in your milk over it and get moved! The city made their offer, you didn't like it, you made a decision, and now you're moving on. The criticism you got from me was the fact that you keep bellyaching over it after the fact.

Do you want the city to make you a deal or are you moving? If you've already made your decision regardless (and I believe that you made it long before you ever threw your circus show at the council meeting), then why do you keep crying over Bob Stonecash, debates, etc???

I am friends with Bob Stonecash, but if you spend any time around these internet websites, you'll see that I call it like I see it. If Stonecash makes a big blunder, I will say so. I wasn't privy to the entire story of your situation, but I read your full page blather in the paper and had a full debriefing of your meeting at city council. I don't agree with everything the city has done. But I am certainly able to discuss the negative things without hating someone. Just like you... I don't hate you. I hope you continue to be successful and prosper in your decisions. It's not personal, just a commentary on how you represented yourself in this situation.

My opinion still stands.

My apologies for the houseboat statement. Maybe it was your brother.

As for the city of Eaton, you do understand that the finance director pretty much leads everyone around don't you? Bob is a hood ornament.

oh... I will grant you the 100% kudos for having the balls to debate on here. 99.9% of the elected people in Preble County are spineless wimps.

Mr. Cain,
Today is the first time I have read the posting on this issue.I live in P.C. but own a business in Indiana( not by planning it just worked out that way). I feel embarrassed by the way you and your company have been treated, although it does not surprise me. They brought WAL-MART in and bragged about it. What they didn't tell in the paper was that forced the closing of several locally owned business that had employed people and had paid taxes in the county for years. Truth be told they probably employed more people then WAL-MART and paid more taxes. But WAL-MART got their(elected officals) picture in the paper.
I hope you do not think for one minute you would have got any help from the commisinors. We only have one and that is JANE MARSHALL. SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR ONLY HOPE! P.C. will be screwed without her.
